Online Horse Racing – Tracking Surfaces An Important Aspect Of Wagering On Horses PDF Print E-mail
Horse Racing Betting / Horse Racing BettingThursday, 12 January 2012 00:42

With the big horse racing event right around the corner, the sports betting enthusiast has usually looked over the race, found the horses that he likes, prepared for the post positions to be announced, and is ready to lay down his wager. However, the one important aspect of a given race that he has likely missed is the type of track that the event will be run on, which is usually the most overlooked aspect of a given race. The surface at a track can make such a big difference in the outcome of a race, and it is important to take note of where they are and how the horse has performed on that surface in the past before laying your money down.

Whether it is a dirt track, grass, or a polysynthetic surface, the times that horses run could be different based just on where they are running. While dirt and grass are usually more consistent to track, the polysynthetic surface is harder to read, although in most cases horses are a lot slower on those tracks. Doing the research and analyzing how horses have performed on those surfaces in the past provides solid insight to the possible future results, and can be a huge benefit to projections. Those numbers can be found on some of the sites listed or affiliated with the ones found on the sportsbook reviews, so take the time to find them and use them before placing your bet with a pay head bookie.

Breeders Cup Betting – Storylines Make For Intrigue With Breeders’ Cup Turf Winner PDF Print E-mail

Taking a quick look back at this year’s Breeders’ Cup Turf race, it is clear that another European invasion took place once again, as it was another Euro horse that won the race in St. Nicholas Abbey. Considered one of the best two-year old horses in Europe, the Montjeu Colt won each of his three races on that track in his first year, and many couldn’t wait to see what was in store for this season. After sustaining an injury and being out for almost a year, St. Nicholas Abbey returned with a renewed fire, and came back for seven starts in 2011. In those five starts, the European colt finished off the board just once, and registered an incredible three stakes wins although most sports betting experts were nervous to wager on him given his history.

The incredible comeback story of St. Nicholas Abbey has the pay head bookies already looking to the horse’s future potential, and whether or not it will be able to race next season. Part of the incredible story has been the fact that its jockey, Joseph O’Brien, has secured the record for the tallest jockey to win a race at the World Championship event, and also the youngest at just 18 years old. O’Brien’s father Aidan is the trainer of St. Nicholas Abbey, and that duo is responsible for nursing the horse back to full strength and then competing once again. The storylines from the Breeders’ Cup Turf race have made for an interesting future for both the horse and those that helped it win, and it will be something to watch for going forward to next year for horse racing fans that consider the wagerweb reviews to go online for the sport.

Online Sports Betting – Breeders’ Cup Challenge Winner Meant To Be PDF Print E-mail

While a ton of work can go in to sports betting handicapping and the preparations that players make to win big, the Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge is proof that as long as you are in the game, anything can happen and anyone can win regardless of the odds. Patrick McGoey of New Orleans is living proof of that theory after pulling in an incredible $270,000 on a wager that cost him only $100.

A partner in the commercial litigation firm Schonekas, Evans, McGoey, and McEachin L.L.C. in New Orleans, McGoey risked $100 in a qualifying tournament back in May in which he was able to beat out 90 players on www.bcqualify.com in able to earn his $10,000 buy-in for the big tournament this past November. That buy-in would allow him to wager a specific amount on each of the races at the Breeders’ Cup, and while he started slow, he had enough money leftover to wager on a longshot in the final race for a chance to win the big prize. McGoey was nowhere near the top of the pay head leaderboard when he made his final bet on Drosselmeyer for the Classic, which was his best bet to win the tournament at strong enough odds. If it wasn’t for his predicament, McGoey would never have bet on Drosselmeyer in order to win the $270,000 prize. But in the end he made the sportsbook review bet, took home the reward, and will remember the event as simply something that was meant to be.

Breeders Cup Betting – Incredible Finish Caps Exciting Weekend At Breeders’ Cup PDF Print E-mail
Horse Racing Betting / Horse Racing BettingWednesday, 16 November 2011 17:23

In one of the most exciting and unpredictable finishes of the sports betting season, the 2011 Breeders Cup Classic more than lived up to its billing with a fantastic finish that included a full showing of underdog horses. While some of the bigger names such as Uncle Mo and Havre de Grace failed to live up to their billing, a horse named Drosselmeyer provided one of the most memorable wins of the year and took home the $5 million prize that came with it.

The pay head race opened with Uncle Mo breaking from the outside and Game on Dude taking the lead on the inside rail, but after they led the way out of the final turn, So You Think made its move on the inside while Drosselmeyer kept pace from just beyond the front of the pack. Then, almost on cue, Drosselmeyer made its move and came out of nowhere down the stretch to take it at the wire, with Game on Dude settling for second and Ruler on Ice finishing third. The 5 dimes review critics will take the race as a warning for what is to come in the future, with the potential for anything to happen on any given day, but it also provides some early insight to a list of contenders when all three horses that showed make their return to Churchill Downs for next year’s Kentucky Derby in the spring of 2012.
