In one of the most exciting and unpredictable finishes of the sports betting season, the 2011 Breeders Cup Classic more than lived up to its billing with a fantastic finish that included a full showing of underdog horses. While some of the bigger names such as Uncle Mo and Havre de Grace failed to live up to their billing, a horse named Drosselmeyer provided one of the most memorable wins of the year and took home the $5 million prize that came with it.

The pay head race opened with Uncle Mo breaking from the outside and Game on Dude taking the lead on the inside rail, but after they led the way out of the final turn, So You Think made its move on the inside while Drosselmeyer kept pace from just beyond the front of the pack. Then, almost on cue, Drosselmeyer made its move and came out of nowhere down the stretch to take it at the wire, with Game on Dude settling for second and Ruler on Ice finishing third. The 5 dimes review critics will take the race as a warning for what is to come in the future, with the potential for anything to happen on any given day, but it also provides some early insight to a list of contenders when all three horses that showed make their return to Churchill Downs for next year’s Kentucky Derby in the spring of 2012.
